Petya Silyanov was born on January 19, 1956 in Sofia. She graduated with a degree in Acting from The National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in 1979 in the class of professor Dimitrina Gyurova. Afterwards, she worked for a short period of time in Drama Theater - Vratsa. She joined the ensemble of Sofia Theatre in 1982. Roles: Nora in a “A Doll's House” from Ibsen, Ophelia in “Hamley” from William Shakespeare, The Coryphaeus in “Oresteia” from Aeschylus, The Marquise in “Madame de Sade” from Yukio Mishima,Ivona in “Princess of Burgundia” from Witold Gombrowicz, Mrs. Peachum in “The Beggar`s Opera” from John Gay, Montague in “Priests and Witches” from texts of priest Mincho Krastev, Sophronius of Vratsa, Martha Brewster in “Arsenic and Old Laces” from Joseph Kesserling, Vessa in “Kuchkata” from from Theodora Dimova, The Woman in “Lord and Shadow” from Stig Dalager, Yvonne in “Les Parents terribles” from Jean Cocteau, and others.


She has roles in the radio theater, the television theater “Masters” from Racho Stoyanov, and in both Bulgarian and international film productions. Shewas a nominated once for the “Askeer” award.
